home, again. i'm trying to settle back into my normal routine. not as easy as it sounds, considering i've spent the last two weeks in 12th century spain. it was amazing. i'm also still trying to digest that as well. all the theory that you cover in a *good* medieval music class (which i had a wonderful such class), not to mention a medieval theory class, we reviewed a little bit and then they said, "go," and we did it! (some of us not as well as the others, but still fun) oh my gosh, all i want to do is sing/play polyphony for iacobus all day long!! ok, got that out of my system. for now. ahem, back to the story. vancouver as a city i found to be rather strange. the fact that no matter what restaurant you're in, even the burger joint run in the side of a wall, has at least one completely vegetarian option, and most had more than that. i also had my first experience with the 24-hour vegetarian restaurant, called the Naam, and it was amazing!! no matter what time you go, there is at least a ten minute wait to get seated, the tables and room in general is crowded as can be, and the food is to die for! there is so much beach space because there were something like three or more peninsula-type landscape features. the college where we stayed took up one complete peninsulas. the beach, btw, below campus is the 'clothing optional' beach, which is lots of fun to visit. they also have the 'bare buns 5k run' on this beach every year. ...too many comments, i cannot choose.
anyhow, as part of my recovery program :-) i am learning how to sleep again. it's a nice, i must say. i've had about three naps today, and i'm going to try for four, so that i can function tomorrow. strange concept, that.
cheers,
